Kaskein Marja Oy
Our family
business has been operating for 28 years, and is now located in Taavetti, South Carelia. The company
was founded in 1981 by Taisto
Koivisto in Savitaipale. The company
philosophy is to work with fresh, high quality products and to preserve the
pure taste of Finnish nature. One of the
first products was a diabetic friendly jam.
We feel that it is important to use
as little sugar as possible in the creation of our products. Nowadays the company
is run by the second generation
of Koivistos, Pekka and Mikko.
The name
Kaskein Marja comes from a little community called "Kaskei" in Savitaipale
where the company
was founded and "marja" from the Finnish word for berry. So
directly translated it means Kaskei's Berry.
